Raised in East London on a soundtrack of ska, Studio One, reggae, and soul, Zufana Weddase cut her teeth in studios and alongside sound systems on the London reggae club scene, developing her voice before becoming an in-demand live and session vocalist across several genres.

Alongside her grounding in roots music, she listened widely—blues, jazz, hip hop, house, jungle, garage, classical—anything with movement, groove, vibe, or edge, and found her niche in an atmospheric and cinematic strain of soul music. It was a sound she first encountered in live performance through a friend’s work, where space, harmony, and mood carried equal weight to melody.

Years of performing across various genres didn’t just build experience. They shaped the instrument: a voice formed in front of audiences, refined over time, with a natural command of emotion, timing, and restraint.

Now based in the Caribbean, her work brings those threads together: soulful, reflective, and cinematic. Her debut release Paradise marked the beginning of her recorded output, with Southern Skies continuing that same trajectory.
